One of Queensland's leading CEOs in the mining services sector, Neill Clur, was today named 2009 Brisbane Owner Manager of the Year at the Australian Institute of Management's regional awards function.
The award was made by Australia Post's State Sales Manager for Queensland, Sandra Webster.
The judges said Neill had "led his business to phenomenal growth and success".
"He has created a robust company structure underpinned by a solid strategic plan and best practice governance framework.
"He is deeply in touch with the business and its people backed up by considered performance management strategies."
Neill founded the DPSA Group of companies in 1997 and the Brisbane-based company now consists of eight companies, employing more than 300 people across Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
DPSA Group was awarded 21st place in the 2008 Business Review Weekly's Fast 100 listing - the second year in a row it has made this prestigious list.
Neill said he owed his success to a great team at the DPSA Group.
"I am very lucky to have a fantastic group of people at DPSA, and together we've gone a long way in achieving our vision of creating a safe, sustainable and growing company based in Queensland," Neill said.
He thanked all those who had supported him.

The 2009 Queensland Managers of the Year will be announced at the Queensland Gala Dinner Final in Brisbane on Friday 13 November. There are nine contenders for each of four awards:

- Young Manager of the Year
- Professional Manager of the Year
- Owner Manager of the Year
